Liftoff Employee Spotlight: Nivin Sewpershad, Sr. Sales Manager
Nivin joined the Liftoff Customer Success Team in our Singapore office and has since transitioned to a Sr. Sales Manager – he’ll be celebrating 3 years with Liftoff this July! When he’s not growing accounts or DJing at our company events, Nivin likes spending time with his dogs, collecting sneakers and making music.
Tell us a little about yourself and how you ended up at Liftoff?
I joined Liftoff after working at Twitter. I wanted to try something new and smaller, so I reached out to Marc Hale, a fellow Liftoffer whom I worked with at Twitter. I liked the idea of working at a company that allows you to see the impact you’re making. I joined Liftoff as a CSM and later transitioned into Sales. I learned so much about the product during my time as a CSM, but realized that Sales was a better fit for my personality.
What are some key traits that help you be successful in your role?
Prioritizing my tasks and developing strong working relationships with our clients helps me tremendously in my role.
What inspires you to succeed every day?
A huge motivator for me is being able to see the impact of my hard work. Here at Liftoff, you get to see the outcome of your work right away and that’s what keeps me going.
What is your biggest accomplishment at Liftoff?
My biggest accomplishment at Liftoff has been scaling our APAC team and helping shape our team culture. We have a clear idea of how we operate and it truly feels like a family. Not only do we work well together, we also know how to have fun and support each other outside of work. One of the main ways we are successful in creating such a tight knit culture is by putting a great deal of emphasis on our interview process. Hiring amazing people that understand our company values, mission and goals really makes Liftoff an awesome place to work.
What’s something that stands out to you about the Liftoff culture?
Being part of the Singapore office, our global company culture is extremely important. I’m proud to say I work at a company where everyone is willing to get involved and help out as needed. It doesn’t matter what team you are on or what office you work out of, everyone steps up even when they don’t have to. People aren’t just focused on themselves and their own growth—this stems from our CEO, all the way to our newest recruits.
What can new members joining the Singapore office expect?
It’s such an exciting time for our office, the team has grown tremendously in the past year and a half. We recently increased our office space and have all the capabilities to achieve great things.
What’s your life highlight?
One of my greatest passions and creative outlets is creating music, so being able to release an album last year was a great personal accomplishment. The Album is titled 54 South and is available on Spotify.
What do you do for fun?
When I’m not spending time playing with my two dogs or making music I’m most likely looking for new sneakers to grow my collection. Fun fact, last year I gave a lightning talk at our HQ office about how to best clean your sneakers.
